EMPLOYMENT EQUITY COMMITTEE TRAINING

OBJECTIVES OF THIS WORKSHOP:

The objectives of this workshop is to ensure that a companies Employment Equity Committee has a thorough understanding of the Employment Equity legislation and process. This workshop will give members of the Employment Equity committee the necessary practical tools to work together constructively towards developing a sound meaningful consultation process within the business to aid transformation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This workshop is aimed at the Employment Equity Manager and ALL committee members.

LENGTH OF WORKSHOP:

The workshop takes place over one day.

VENUE:

This workshop can be run virtually or in house at client’s premises.

ONCE THE DELEGATES HAVE ATTENDED THE WORKSHOP, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Understand and know what the Employment Equity status quo in Business and the State it is in within South Africa.
  • Read and understand the relevant aspects of the Employment Equity Act and its associated Regulations.
  • Take steps to eradicate unfair discrimination in all employment policies and practices in the workplace.
  • Implement Diversity programmes at the organisation.
  • Understand what is meant by the terms “employment policies and practices” and “the inherent requirements of the job”.
  • Identify what aspects should be included in the Employment Equity Plan.
  • Consult on the formation of the Employment Equity Plan.
  • Understand the reporting process as required by the Department of Labour.
  • Identify the role and responsibility of the Employment Equity Committee.
  • Allocate responsibilities to the members of the Employment Equity Committee.
  • Design an effective Employment Equity Communication process to keep the employees informed of Employment Equity matters.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of equity related plans and policies.

A quotation is available depending on the size of the Employment Equity Committee and chosen venue.
